Costs:

Adoption Fees: $80 - $170 for Dogs and Puppies, $80 for Cats and Kittens
Special Promotion Fees are advertised at special events at the shelter location and off-site Adoption fees include spay or neuter surgery (required by law), rabies vaccination and City license (required by law), and microchip (a lost pet’s ticket home).

Vaccinations:

All dogs and cats are given their appropriate vaccination and worming upon adoption if warranted. Their health is not guaranteed. However, with adoption & sterilization, the pet will receive a free vet examination. The veterinarian may recommend treatment, but that is at the option of the adopting family.

Sterilization:

ALL dogs and cats WILL be spayed or neutered! Our agency is a direct result of the overpopulation problem. In 10 years, one unaltered female cat and one unaltered male cat can be responsible for over eighty million cats! (According to the American Humane Association). Upon adoption, the pet will be transferred to a participating veterinarian. The pet will then be sterilized. The veterinarian’s office will call the adopting family for pickup of the animal.

Misc. Animal Fees:

Our pocket pet fees vary from $5 - $50 depending on the animal and any equipment that may be included in the adoption.

Other Requirements:

Adopting parties must have proof of identification. They must be 19 years of age or older. They must not be intoxicated. The adoption process takes approximately 30 minutes for the paperwork. Please allow ample time to look for the pet of your dreams, visit with it, and do all appropriate paperwork. We do not suggest adoptions for a gift. If you desire to give the gift of a new pet, bring that person with you and allow them to pick out their new family member.
