At Home Brings New Superstore to North Parkway in Huntsville

(Huntsville, AL) - EBR Huntsville LLC , the owner of the Kmart Plaza on North Memorial Parkway in Huntsville, is excited to announce that Dallas-based home décor retailer At Home will be opening a store on the property in summer 2015. Kmart announced it would be closing its North Parkway location in January, 2015.

At Home is a home decor superstore with an expansive selection of patio furniture, home furnishings, wall decor and decorative accents, rugs and housewares. At Home will lease the entirety of the 104,000 square foot Kmart building and have a workforce of about 25 employees.

EBR plans to renovate the building to accommodate the new At Home tenant. Additional site plans include a new 8,000 square foot building on the property for a possible restaurant and other smaller retail.

"We certainly believe there will now be a powerful group of retailers in North Huntsville with the addition of At Home to the already existing Costco and Home Depot stores," said Howard M. Levy, Vice President of EBL&S Property Management Inc. "North Memorial Parkway will become a destination for shoppers."

At Home's primary expansion area is the Southern U.S., and the company has two stores in Birmingham. The Huntsville location will mark the company's third store in the state.

"At Home maintains a highly flexible site selection model (we own, lease and build new stores to support our growth), which allows us to be opportunistic when second-generation sites like this one become available," said Stacey Sullivan, At Home Director of Public Relations and Communications. "This location was also appealing to us due to strong retail co-tenancies and roadway visibility and access."

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle says the City is pleased to welcome another new retailer to the City's Parkway corridor. "We want to thank EBL&S for quickly turning around this excellent retail site and for their continued investment in Huntsville," said Mayor Battle. "We also look forward to making At Home feel a part of our home."

EBL&S Property Management, Inc., the Property Manager and Leasing Agent for EBR Huntsville, LLC, has a strong record in re-tenanting and revitalizing shopping centers across its portfolio.
