|Foster Families Needed - Take A Shelter Pet Home For the Holidays
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 11, 2014
(Huntsville, AL) - Huntsville Animal Services is looking for volunteers to help bring happiness to shelter dogs and cats during the holidays. Shelter officials are asking the community to join in the holiday spirit by opening their warm homes to the pets from the shelter as a short-term foster volunteer. There are about 80 puppies, dogs, and cats of all sizes and breeds just waiting to enjoy a loving home.
The shelter is currently filled to capacity with furry pets that would love to spend time with a caring family at this time of the year in hopes of becoming a permanent member of the household. By providing temporary homes for the animals already in the shelter, it helps the City make space for new animals coming into the shelter each day.
To encourage fostering and adoptions to help the City save shelter pets, Huntsville Animal Services is offering a special holiday adoption fee of $5 for all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens beginning Friday, December 12 through Friday, December 19, 2014.
Madison County residents interested in helping a shelter dog or cat can find the foster volunteer application online or at the shelter location. Huntsville Animal Services is located at 4950 Triana Boulevard, west of Airport Road. For more information, call 256-883-3783 or 3784, or visit www.hsvcity.com/animal.
