(Huntsville, AL) - So, you think you can plan a riverfront park? The BIG Picture wants you, no audition required.
The City of Huntsville invites residents to participate in a Citizens Academy to discuss "Ditto Landing: Engaging Huntsville's Riverfront." The program, hosted by The BIG Picture, the city's comprehensive master planning initiative, will be held Tuesday, June 24 from 6-7:30 p.m., at Ditto Landing off of Hobbs Island Road. Signs will be posted to direct attendees.
Dennis Madsen, the City of Huntsville's Manager of Urban and Long-Range Planning, will open the session with a presentation on proposals for improving the riverfront and he will address limitations for the most popular ideas. Participants will be asked to join in map exercises to translate suggestions for the Ditto Landing area.
The BIG Picture is the City of Huntsville's 18-month comprehensive planning initiative to improve economic growth, greenways, transportation and redevelopment.
There will be multiple Citizens Academies during the BIG Picture development phase. The events are being held to help inform residents of the key pillars of the Huntsville comprehensive plan. To learn more about upcoming events, visit bigpicturehuntsville.com.
