|Mayor Battle's Book Club Media Event

RESCHEDULED: Mayor Tommy Battle has rescheduled the Mayor's Book Club Media Event for Friday, March 9, 11 a.m., at University Place School. The Mayor and his Book Club corporate sponsors and partners will be there to read to students. The 2012 Mayor's Book Club is purchasing 18,000 books this year for all pre-K through 5th grade students in Huntsville's Title I schools.

HUNTSVILLE, AL- Mayor Tommy Battle, Huntsville School Superintendent Dr. Casey Wardynski, along with corporate sponsors of Mayor Battle's Book Club and First Book of North Alabama, will host a media event on Friday, March 2, 10:30 AM at University Place School, 4503 University Drive.
Mayor Battle and his wife, Eula, will be reading "Green Eggs and Ham" to students, and the Mayor's Book Club will present the first of four books that will be distributed to more than 4,500 students in Huntsville's Title 1 elementary schools.
More details about the Mayor's literary initiative, in partnership with First Book, corporate sponsors Boeing, Breland Homes, RBC Bank, and Woody Anderson Ford, will be explained at the media event.
