Alabama Supreme Court Ruling on Public Building Authority of the
City of Huntsville v. Dawson Building Contractors |
 (Huntsville, AL) -- "I want to briefly address today's decision handed down by the Alabama Supreme Court in regard to the Public Building Authority of the City of Huntsville versus Dawson Building Contractors.
The Supreme Court overruled, with no opinion, on the City's application for a re-hearing. We are obviously disappointed in the Supreme Court's decision, but there are still options remaining and viable claims against some of the defendants in the lawsuit. Based on the action of the Supreme Court today, the case will go back to the trial court.
For three years, we have been trying to clean this up, and I am extremely frustrated with the amount of time it is taking the courts to deal with this case. As you are well aware, the challenges with the jail project occurred in a previous administration, but rest assured we are still going to fight to do what's right for the taxpayer.
Unfortunately, as much as I would like to, I can make no further comment about the case at this time. We will be discussing the decision with our lead outside counsel, and we will keep you informed."
