Day Camps are offered at select Parks & Recreation community and recreation centers for Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break and Spring Break. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The dates reflect the Huntsville City Schools calendar and are subject to change based on decisions made by the Huntsville City Schools.

  • Fall Break: Oct. 4-8, 2021
  • Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 22-24, 2021
  • Winter Break: Dec. 20, 2021 to Jan. 4, 2022
  • Spring Break: Mar. 14-18, 2022

The camps are for K-6th grade students. The cost for campers is $50 per week. For families with more than one child, the cost is $50 per week for the first child and $25 per week for each additional child. ($30 per child and $15 for each additional child attending the week of Thanksgiving.) Cash, check or credit/debit card payments will be accepted. Payment must be made to the facility your child will attend before participating.

Day Camps will not take place on federal holidays.

Parents or guardians may choose their preferred recreation center (listed at the bottom of this page) for their child to attend the Day Camp of their choice.

Recreation center staff will call the parent/guardian to confirm the child has been admitted to the Day Camp they have selected. The Day Camp is first come, first served. The maximum number of children varies by site, depending on the space and staffing. A separate application must be submitted for each child attending.

Registration will open approximately three weeks prior to the start date of each camp.


DAILY ACTIVITIES

Day Camps include morning and afternoon snacks, arts, athletics/wellness and recreational outdoor activities. Professional recreation staff will be supervising the children.

Parents must provide a daily lunch for their child.


COVID-19 SAFETY

Staff and children are required to wear masks, unless being physically active. This follows the Huntsville City Schools safety protocols during the pandemic.


DROP OFF/PICK UP

Each child will be checked in upon arrival and must be checked out by an adult listed on the registration form. If someone who is not listed on the form comes to pick up a child, the parent/guardian will be contacted to ensure the individual has permission to take the child.


TRANSPORTATION

At this time, transportation to Day Camps is not available.
