Want to weigh in on the future of community development and affordable housing in Huntsville? Join the City for three community input sessions Dec. 10-11.
The City’s Community Development Department will hold a series of public forums to solicit input from residents on community priorities, affordable housing needs and fair housing issues for inclusion in a Five-Year Consolidated Plan and Fair Housing Study.
Citizens are invited to attend the following public input events:
- Tuesday, Dec. 10, 6 p.m., Seminole Service Center, 212 Seminole Drive SW
- Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1 p.m., Downtown Public Library, 915 Monroe Street
- Wednesday, Dec. 11, 6 p.m., Showers Recreation Center, 4600 Blue Spring Road
The City of Huntsville is beginning to develop a five-year plan that identifies community development and affordable housing needs and sets priorities for investment of federal grant funds to address them. A second analysis of barriers to fair housing is also being conducted.
