Enjoy the health benefits of walking! Most Centers have indoor and outdoor walking options. After you have logged 5 walks with the front desk, you will receive a free T-Shirt courtesy of We Walk Huntsville and New Balance Huntsville. Walks must be at least 15 minutes long and occur on different days. T-shirts are subject to availability.

 

Huntsville municipal offices will be closed on Monday, May 29, in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.

Join this morning water aerobics class at the Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Pool! All ages are encouraged, though participants tend to be 50+ years old. This class is run by an instructor and is monitored by a lifeguard.

Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in American! Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and Ping-Pong and is created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. Brahan Springs Recreation Center has one court to play on during the designated Pickleball times.

This Senior Balance Class is a Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) class. The class has strength, balance and fitness aspects for adults 65 and older. Performing exercises that improve strength, balance and fitness is the single most important activity adults can do to stay active and reduce their chances of falling. SAIL classes are conducted by fitness, exercise science and healthcare professionals who have completed SAIL program leader training.
