TICKETS ELIGIBLE FOR ONLINE PAYMENT
Only tickets that have been filed with the court by the issuing officer and have not been disposed of may be accessed by this service.
You may be eligible to attend a Defensive Driving Course in disposition of your ticket to avoid having a conviction or points being applied to your driving record. You may use this service if you are charged with one of the listed offenses and have not been convicted of two or more traffic violations during the preceding 12 months.
ONLINE PROCESSING LIMITATIONS
It is your responsibility to ensure that payments are made in sufficient time to meet required deadlines.
If your ticket does not display, there may be some problem with accessing your ticket. You will have to contact Municipal Court at (256) 427-7810 for further information.
I hereby understand that I have a legal right to contest this citation and have a trial before court. By handling this ticket by payment I understand that I am pleading guilty to this offense and waiving my right to a trial. I understand that my plea of guilty will have the same force and effect as a judgment of conviction by the court and that a record of this conviction will be sent to the drivers license division of the Alabama Department of Public Safety (or of the state where I received my license to drive). I further understand and agree under penalty of law (Section 13A-10-109, Code of Alabama 1975), that I have not been convicted of two or more traffic violations during the preceding 12 months.
*NOTICE TO DEFENDANT IN TRAFFIC CASE
You must either come to court on the date and time shown under “COURT APPEARANCE INFORMATION” on your Traffic ticket or pay the ticket before your court date. See Instructions for Paying Traffic Citations for information on what tickets can be paid without coming to Court.
If you fail to appear in court on the date and time shown on your traffic ticket or to pay the ticket BEFORE your court date, the following things will happen WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE TO YOU.
- A warrant will be issued for your arrest.
- Your driver’s license will be suspended and it cannot be reinstated until the ticket is cleared and a reinstatement fee is paid.
- A new charge of failure to appear may be made against you.
- The fine is subject to being increased.
- Any bond you have posted will be forfeited.
If you would like to plead not guilty, call (256) 427-7810 before your court appearance date to have a trial date set. If you do not want to contest your ticket, you may come to the Municipal Justice and Public Safety Center before the court date on your citation and pay your fines and court costs, or register for a defensive driving class if eligible.
