City of Huntsville offices will be closed Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, for New Year’s Day. This includes Animal Services and Municipal Court. All Parks & Recreation facilities will close at 5 p.m. and Public Transit (both Orbit and Access routes) will stop operations at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Huntsville Police and Fire & Rescue will continue operations as normal during the holiday. Thursday residential garbage collection will be delayed until Friday.
City of Huntsville offices will open at 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2. Parks & Recreation and Public Transit will resume normal operations.
