Robert Fearn House
Site of residence built 1835 by Col. Robert and Eliza Fearn later owned by James O’Shaughnessy.
Burned 1890.
State Archaeological Site #MS2, 1995.
The Jeffersonian Style one and a half story house had Doric columns and one chimney. Candles for light, hand-carried water, outdoor toilets.
Col. Robert Fearn, Sr. cotton and real estate broker, with brother Dr. Thomas Fearn built Huntsville’s first water system. Co-founder of Greene Academy, Huntsville Female Seminary and the Town of Viduta. Listed in the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage, June 19, 1996.
