Grand opening and ribbon-cutting set for Raymond W. Jones Community Center

The list of public facilities is growing in John Hunt Park! On Thursday, Feb. 29, Mayor Tommy Battle will join Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett and other special guests for a celebratory ribbon-cutting at the Raymond W. Jones Community Center.

The former National Guard Armory was purchased by the City and recently underwent a $6.4 million renovation. It houses offices for John Hunt Park management and supports programs for senior populations, including Rock Steady boxing and specialized fitness classes for those with Parkinson’s disease.
