In honor of Earth Month – Come to Hays Nature Preserve to drop off your household hazardous waste and help the Earth! The Household Hazardous Waste Collection takes place on Saturday, April 17 from 8am – Noon at Hays Nature Preserve. The event is DRIVE-THRU only.
Items like paint, chemicals, old electronics and automotive products may be dropped off. Find a full list of accepted items from Solid Waste Disposal Authority of the City of Huntsville at http://swdahsv.org/hazardous/.
Plus enjoy free giveaways including cucumber and tomato plants, a children’s activity and popcorn and cotton candy from Operation Green Team. The Alabama Cooperative Extension System will also be giving out wildflower seed packets!
All giveaways are while supplies last. Hays Nature Preserve will be closed to other activities during the drive-thru event. Call 256-53-CLEAN for questions.
