You are invited to a public workshop regarding compatibility planning around Redstone Arsenal.

The workshop is part of the ongoing development of the Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) to address compatibility planning between Redstone Arsenal and the surrounding communities.

The City of Huntsville, in cooperation with Redstone Arsenal and other communities, agencies, and organizations in the region, is preparing a JLUS to address compatibility planning around Redstone Arsenal with the goal of achieving a balance between sustaining and supporting mission needs of Redstone Arsenal and protecting opportunities for community growth, economic vitality, and quality of life.

The JLUS assesses 25 compatibility factors, identifies existing and potential issues, and proposes strategies to address the issues.

The compatibility factors include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordination and Communication
  • Land / Air Space Competition
  • Land Use
  • Light and Glare
  • Noise
  • Roadway Capacity
  • Vibrations

You are invited to this workshop to learn about and provide input on the compatibility issues that have been identified for the JLUS and to identify any issues not yet considered. Input from the community is essential to develop a plan that is responsible to local needs.

Your input is encouraged!
