UPCOMING MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

The next City of Huntsville municipal election will be the City Council District 5 runoff on October 6, 2020.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS

Due to Covid-19, the Secretary of State is allowing Alabama voters concerned about the coronavirus to cast an absentee ballot. Voters filling out an application for an absentee ballot should check the box that says “I have a physical illness or infirmity which prevents my attendance at the polls. [ID REQUIRED]” to receive their absentee ballot.

The deadline to apply for a municipal election District 5 runoff absentee ballot is October 1.

Absentee ballots must be postmarked by October 5 and received by noon on October 6 to be counted; they can also be hand-delivered by the person voting to a county absentee election manager by close of business on October 5.

More information is available on the Absentee Ballot webpage.
