Lane closures planned on Governors Drive for litter cleanup

Weather permitting, temporary lane closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, and Wednesday, Aug. 16, on Governors Drive (U.S. 431) for litter cleanup.

Tuesday’s closure will impact the northbound lane closest to the median from Old Big Cove Road to California Street. Wednesday’s closure will impact the southbound lane closest to the median within the same stretch.

Motorists should use caution and take alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion. The Alabama Department of Transportation is assisting with traffic control.
