Portion of Drake Avenue to close for drainage improvements

Weather permitting, the City of Huntsville will close Drake Avenue from Briarwood Drive to Garth Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 1-2, for drainage improvements.

Residents will have local access during the closure, and the road will reopen daily.  During construction, traffic will detour to Briarwood, Deborah and Appalachee drives as well as Barcody and Garth roads.
