Zierdt Road traffic pattern changes – Edgewater Drive – 3 week temporary road closure

Published on August 26, 2020

Weather permitting, Friday, August 28, at 6 a.m., contractors will begin to install lane shifts on Zierdt Road just north of Edgewater Drive and at the Martin Road intersection for roadwork to progress on the project. All traffic will be shifted to the existing northbound lanes (one lane in each direction) between Edgewater Drive and Martin Road.

Also included is a temporary closure of Edgewater Drive at Zierdt Road intersection to begin at 8 a.m. on this same date for approximately three (3) weeks as the contractor raises the intersection to connect Edgewater Drive to the existing northbound lanes of Zierdt Road.

Edgewater Subdivision traffic will detour to Nature’s Way for access to Zierdt Road during this time (see attached map).

All other access points along Zierdt Road will be connected to the northbound lanes utilizing existing median crossovers.

Drivers are urged to use caution and pay attention to vehicles entering the new northbound lanes at crossover locations as traffic patterns change in the area. Traffic control will be in place to help direct motorists through the construction area.

If further information is needed, please contact Jacob Stephens with the City of Huntsville Engineering Division, at 256-427-5300.
