Martin Road Improvements Phase I
Published on April 24, 2017
This project is phase one of a 1.3 mile, five-lane roadway improvement that will include sidewalks and bicycle lanes on each side of the street from Old Jim Williams Road to Zierdt Road.
The contractor has shifted traffic to the future eastbound lanes between Jamar Circle and Williams Circle. Crews are approximately 90% done rebuilding and widening the westbound lanes to include new drainage, curb and roadway subgrade and pavement. The drainage work is complete and grading work is complete. The contractor has finished paving the binder layers for the future westbound lanes from Jamar Circle to Williams Circle.
Traffic has shifted to the eastbound lanes across the eight-barrel 10-foot-by-10-foot box culvert extension at Betts Springs, and work has begun on the westbound side. The old bridge is currently being removed and the contractor is dewatering the area to begin pouring the new culvert. Once the culvert is completed, the remainder of the curb and roadway pavement will be completed from Williams Circle to Old Jim Williams to complete the project.
The projected completion for the entire project is late Spring of 2022, weather permitting.
