Winchester Road from Dominion to Naugher Road

SUMMARY
This project widens Winchester Road to 5 lanes for a 2.2-mile section from Dominion to Naugher Road.
STATUS
The City remains in right-of-way acquisition for the next phase of construction on Winchester Road. This phase contains 2.25 miles of new five-lane roadway to connect to the recently completed portion. The right-of-way acquisition schedule continues to change due to new development/ownership along this county growth corridor. Any changes to properties within this area require new legal descriptions, appraisals and offers to be made to each property owner to include active condemnation proceedings. Acquisition is anticipated to be complete by early 2027. Utility agreements have been approved by ALDOT for each utility provider to relocate upon completion of acquisition, and road construction will start immediately after. The road project is anticipated to take 18-24 months to complete construction. Once complete, Winchester Road will be five lanes for approximately nine (9) miles from Pulaski Pike to Bell Factory Road.
