Winchester Road from Dominion to Naugher Road

SUMMARY
This project widens Winchester Road to 5 lanes for a 2.2-mile section from Dominion to Naugher Road.
STATUS
This phase contains 2.25 miles of new five-lane roadway to connect to the recently completed portion. The city is near completion in the right-of-way acquisition phase for the project. Status includes negotiations, updating legal descriptions, and awaiting condemnation proceedings to be schedule. The right-of-way acquisition schedule continues to change due to new development/ownership along this county growth corridor.. Acquisition phase is anticipated to be complete by Spring 2027. Utility design and funding agreements have been approved by ALDOT for each utility provider to begin relocation effort completion of all property needed, and road construction will start immediately after. The road project is anticipated to take 24 months to complete construction. Once complete, Winchester Road will be five lanes for approximately nine (9) miles from Pulaski Pike to Bell Factory Road.
