Huntsville Animal Services is teaming up with the ‘Skating in the Park,’ a program of the Huntsville Museum of Art, to promote animal adoptions.
On Saturday, December 30, from 10 a.m. until noon, Huntsville shelter dogs looking for forever homes will be rinkside in Big Spring Park watching skaters for their potential as future best friends. The adoption fee is FREE, and all the dogs will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home with their new family.
Since ice skates don’t safely fit pet paws, no dogs will be allowed on the ice, however, skaters may meet and visit with adoptable dogs at their leisure at the Huntsville Animal Services tent by the entrance to the skating rink. Volunteers will also be on hand to showcase the adoptable dogs and share their personalities and habits.
Those who cannot adopt but are interested in supporting Huntsville Animal Services, can do so through volunteering, fostering or donating pet toys and supplies.
The shelter will be closed Saturday, so for families wanting to visit with some adoptable dogs, visit the skating rink at Big Spring Park on Saturday, December 30.
