Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Pool

The Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Pool is open year-round and offers a wide variety of swim lessons and group exercise classes. The pool features two one-meter Durafirm diving boards and is accessible by hydraulic chair lift. The pool water is a comfortable 84-85 degrees.

Swim lessons, public swim, water aerobics and other classes are also offered at the Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Pool, 4600 Blue Spring Road, 35810. For more information, call 256-851-4003.

By City Ordinance only persons 19 years of age or older can purchase a swim pass.

• Hours of Operation:
  • Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m., Lap, Lounge and Rec Swim
    (Daily class at 7:30 a.m. and 12 noon
  • Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Lap, Lounge and Rec Swim
• Activities: Adult lap swim, water exercise and lounge swim allowed.
