The Huntsville Aquatics Center includes two Olympic size pools for competition use and the largest spectator seating capacity in the state with over 1,400 seats. In addition to the Competition Pool and Legacy Pool, the Instructional Pool provides warm water therapy at 90 degrees, an in-water bench with jets, and a handicapped access ramp into the water.

Swim lessons, public swim, water aerobics, and other classes are also offered at the Huntsville Aquatics Center, 2213 Drake Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35805.

POOL RULES

Enforced by Parks & Recreation staff.

  • Locker rooms can be used to rinse off before entering the pool. Patrons will not be allowed to return to the locker room after swimming to shower. Dry off on the deck before leaving the facility.
  • Diving boards are closed except for scheduled, coach-led training sessions.
  • Maximum time in water is one hour when other patrons are waiting for a lane.
  • Only one swimmer per lane.
  • The staff will set the number of people allowed due to social distancing standards for each pool.

Hours of operation and activities have been restricted during COVID-19. Water exercising and aerobics are permitted; however, Red Cross classes and swim lessons will not be conducted at this time. Remember to wash your hands, stay home if sick, avoid close contact, & cover coughs and sneezes. COMPETITION POOL
Water polo and Lap swim only (one lap swimmer per lane unless swimmers live in the same household). Swimmers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 18.

INSTRUCTIONAL POOL
Maximum swimmers allowed – 12 persons in pool and per class. Pool is open for adult lap swim or water exercise; maintaining social distance standards.

    • Saturday, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

    • Monday – Friday, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m., Water Exercise Slow Class (12 per class)
    • Monday – Thursday, 5 p.m. – 5:50 p.m., Water Exercise Slow Class (12 per class). This class will return to its Tuesday/Thursday schedule, along with the Monday/Wednesday 6 p.m. class, post COVID-19.
