Sparkman Drive Bridge Improvements

SUMMARY
The city has received federal funds to repair an aging deck on the Sparkman Drive bridge just west of US Highway 231 (Memorial Parkway). The proposed work consist of removal of the old asphalt deck and concrete beams on a section of the bridge structure and replace with new precast concrete beams and a new concrete deck. The existing roadway will also be repaved and restriped as a part of the project. A detour route using Max Luther Drive NW will be necessary during construction of the project.
STATUS
The work is anticipated to start in late 2026 and be complete within 60 calendar days.
