City of Huntsville approves project to support affordable housing

City of Huntsville leaders approved a project to build a 42-unit multi-family development partially supported by American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds to provide safe, affordable housing for the homeless and other vulnerable groups. The facility will be constructed on Venona Avenue, on land owned by Neighborhood Concepts Inc. The City of Huntsville will reopen on Monday, Jan. 22 at 6 a.m. This includes regular operating hours for all municipal departments and services. Residents should expect delays in garbage collection. Please place your can out on your regularly scheduled day and leave it curbside until Sanitation workers are able to collect.

City of Huntsville municipal offices will be closed Friday, Jan. 19, due to continued travel issues from this week’s winter weather event. Offices were set to reopen at 11 a.m. today, but after reassessing road conditions, the decision was made to close to ensure employees’ safety. All offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22. Huntsville awards contract for Pratt Avenue streetscape project

Huntsville approves contract for Mark C. Smith Concert Hall expansion
