Shuttle Bus

The goal of the Public Transportation Division is to provide adequate and efficient community transportation services for the general public, senior citizens, physically challenged citizens, commuters, and individuals with limited transportation alternatives.


SHUTTLE BUS SYSTEM

Operates Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on nine routes covering more than 175 miles of city streets each hour of service.

Children under 32″ are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Limited to 2 children per fare.

To use a discounted fare, riders must show qualifying I.D.

In addition to being available from Bus Drivers on all Buses, complete system maps and schedules are distributed at 15 facilities.

Service animals are welcome in all City of Huntsville public transit vehicles.


TICKET PURCHASE INFORMATION

Ticket Books and Monthly Passes may be purchased at the Public Transit office located at 500B Church Street NW, Huntsville, Alabama 35801.

Our office hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.


UAH CAMPUS ROUTE 

On Friday evenings a UAH Campus Route runs through the campus housing area with main stops at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, Target and Bridge Street Town Center. Campus Shuttle runs most Friday evenings from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Please call for a schedule at (256) 427-6811.

CHASE INDUSTRIAL TRIAL SERVICE

From October 1st to December 31, 2018, vans will transport passengers between the downtown Public Transit Downtown Transfer Station and the Technicolor facility in Chase Industrial Park, 4905 Moores Mill Rd. NE. This new service will make one round-trip each weekday, Monday – Friday.  At the Technicolor facility, vans will drop off and pick up passengers at the West Entrance flagpole. This is an express service — no stops will be made between the Transfer Station and Technicolor. Riders must purchase a one-way ticket ($1) or monthly pass ($38) to use this service. Use Routes 6, 7 or 8 to get to and from the Transfer Station. Transfers are FREE to all Shuttle routes.

Depart Downtown Transfer Station: 6:50 a.m. > Arrive Technicolor: 7:15 a.m.
Depart Technicolor: 5:30 p.m > Arrive Downtown Transfer Station: 5:50 p.m.

DIAMOND DRIVE/THORTON RESEARCH PARK TRIAL SERVICE

From October 1st to December 31, 2018, Shuttle Route 3 will make one round trip to Diamond Drive each weekday, stopping at the Technicolor facility, 300 Diamond Dr. NW.  Riders should be at the bus stop at least five minutes before departure. Riders must purchase a one-way ticket ($1) or monthly pass ($38) to use this service. Transfers are FREE to all Shuttle routes.

Depart Downtown Transfer Station: 7 a.m. > Arrive Technicolor: 7:35 a.m.
Depart Technicolor: 5:30 p.m. > Arrive Downtown Transfer Station: 5:50 p.m.
