The Huntsville Police Department’s (HPD) Summer Slowdown traffic safety initiative ended Friday, July 31, following more than two months of emphasis on enforcement and public safety efforts across Huntsville that saw a significant drop in traffic fatalities. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has arrested Terryon Ellis Dewayne Gatewood, 20, and Daquavion DeShawn Malone, 21, both of Huntsville, in connection with the first of two shootings that occurred Sunday, Aug. 2 near Jordan Lane and Mastin Lake Road.
