The City entered into a funding agreement with the Alabama Department of Transportation for the first phase of Resolute Way. The project includes an additional 1-mile of weave/merge distance along Interstate 565 eastbound from Madison Boulevard to SR-255/Research Boulevard

Plans are complete, and the City is finalizing land acquisition. The project has been bid. Notice to proceed date is Sept. 8.

Work is complete, and the roads are now officially open. The remaining work includes minor erosion control and sidewalk clean-up. Final inspections will be scheduled soon.

The site has been cleared, and construction on three of the four bridge culverts and gas, water, sewer, electric and communication relocations are complete. Construction of permanent signal at the new intersection of Bypass and Memorial Pkwy. should be active by end of Aug. 2025,

The roadway construction was let by ALDOT in September 2023. The contract was awarded to the low bidder, Rogers Group Inc. The roadway construction will be performed with a detour route in place for motorists to use Trademark Drive to maintain two-way traffic during construction. Construction began in April 2024 with the detour route put in place on April 1. Construction is currently underway and will take approximately two and a half years to complete, weather permitting.
