16 Huntsville Police personnel representing 215 years of law enforcement experience receive promotions

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) promoted four investigators, six sergeants, three lieutenants and three captains Friday, Feb. 9.

During a special ceremony, Officers Ben Brewer, Gabriel Harrell, Jeremiah Higgins and Daniel Kynard were promoted to the rank of Investigator. Officers Micah Alexander, Nathan Hubler, Allie Peterson, Chass Shannon, Harold Swopes and Matthew Troncone were promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Sgts. Joe Kennington, Kelley Reeve and Rob Wilcox were promoted to Lieutenant and Lts. Stephen Anderson, Tim Clardy Jr. and Tony McElyea were promoted to Captain.

These 16 individuals bring more than 215 years of law enforcement experience to their new roles. They will work in various positions throughout the department with both sworn and civilian personnel.

“These exceptional individuals have unique backgrounds that are pivotal in driving forward the vision and advancement of our department,” Chief Giles said.

HPD has more than 700 sworn and civilian personnel who work to keep the community safe.
