Huntsville Police Investigating Shooting

The Huntsville Police Department is investigating a shooting that left three people with minor injuries.    Officers responded to the 3100 block of Joppa Circle shortly after 10:00 p.m. last night for reports of a large disturbance and shots fired.  When they arrived they found three people, age 16, 19, and 20, with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the legs.  Officers recovered two guns from a car as well as marijuana and [more]

Huntsville Police Identify Man Killed in Traffic Accident

The Huntsville Police Department is investigating a one-car accident that claimed the life of 54 year old Michael Glazik of Madison.   The accident happened on Research Park Blvd. near the Old Madison Pike interchange just after 6:00 a.m. this morning.  It appears the GMC Envoy Mr. Glazik was driving left the roadway as it traveled southbound.  The vehicle struck a tree and Mr. Glazik died at the scene.  There was no [more]

Huntsville Police Sergeant Placed on Administrative Duties Following Arrest

The Huntsville Police Department has placed a Sergeant on Administrative Duties following his arrest in Tuscaloosa, AL last weekend.     Sergeant King, a 20 year veteran of the department, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of Disorderly Conduct last Friday by Tuscaloosa Police Department.  Sergeant King will remain on Administrative Duties pending the outcome of the criminal investigation and the Huntsville Police Department Internal investigation.

STAC Agents Seize Meth, Cocaine and Guns

 Agents with the Madison-Morgan County HIDTA Drug Task Force (STAC) have charged 47 year old Martin Acevedo of Huntsville with drug trafficking.    The arrest was the result of a search warrant served at his business, ROF Used Tires, in the 11000 block of South Memorial Parkway on October 21.  The search warrant was the culmination of a lengthy investigation involving the trafficking of large amounts of methamphetamine in the area.  [more]
