Animal Services offering free pet food and spay/neuter vouchers at “Kisses & Kibbles” event, Feb. 21
Published on February 18, 2026
Huntsville Animal Services (HAS) is spreading the love this February with its annual Kisses & Kibbles Drive-Thru Pet Food Pantry event on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at the HAS offices, 4950 Triana Blvd. SW.
The event makes it easier for City of Huntsville residents to care for their pets. Each household can receive one free bag of dog or cat food and a voucher for a free spay or neuter procedure. For the food, simply drive up, show a valid ID and staff will load the food while supplies last. For the spay/neuter voucher, City residents are asked to please park and visit the voucher station (ID required).
The spay/neuter voucher includes a list of participating providers who will perform the procedure at no cost. February is Spay and Neuter Awareness Month and HAS encourages pet owners to take advantage of this opportunity to improve their pet’s health and help reduce shelter overcrowding.
“When you spay or neuter your pet, you’re making a choice that benefits your pet, your family and our city,” Director of Animal Services John Fischer said. “This routine procedure helps keep shelters from getting overcrowded and your pet live a longer, healthier life.”
A full list of all currently available dogs and cats at HAS can be found here.
Animal Services is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 256-883-3782, visit HuntsvilleAL.gov/Animal or visit their Facebook page to learn more.
