If you’re interested in helping shape the future programming and amenities at the Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Center, the City of Huntsville invites you to a public listening session on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 6 p.m. at the Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Center, 4600 Blue Spring Road.

“This is an excellent opportunity for stakeholders and patrons of the Showers Center to provide us with valuable feedback on what’s working well and what areas might need improvement,” said James Gossett, Director of Huntsville Parks & Recreation. “Given that this is one of our busiest and most popular facilities, we are eager to hear from the community and make adjustments based on their insights.”

The Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Center is a cornerstone of the Huntsville community, named in honor of the late, long-serving member of the Huntsville City Council who represented District 1. The Center boasts a wide range of facilities designed to cater to diverse community needs, including an indoor pool, meeting rooms, outdoor walking track, splash pad and basketball courts.
