City of Huntsville offices to close for Juneteenth

City of Huntsville municipal offices will close Thursday, June 19, for Juneteenth. This includes Animal Services, Public Transit (Orbit and Access) and Municipal Court. City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 20.

  • Garbage collection: Residential collection may be delayed the week of June 16. Residents should leave carts at the curb until they are collected.
  • Parks & Recreation: All facilities will close except splash pads, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Get-A-Way Skate Park will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Kid’s Space from 8 a.m. to one hour after sunset.
  • Public Safety: Essential police and fire personnel will remain on duty throughout the holiday.
