City of Huntsville offices to close for New Year’s Day

City of Huntsville municipal offices will close Thursday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s Day. This includes Animal Services and Municipal Court.

All Parks & Recreation facilities will close at 5 p.m. and Public Transit (Orbit and Access) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2.

  • Garbage Collection: Residential collection will be delayed one day. Residents should leave carts at the curb until they are collected.
  • Public Safety: Essential police and fire personnel will remain on duty throughout the holiday.
