A live fire training exercise will be conducted by the Huntsville Fire-Rescue Training Division, today on Thursday November 14, 2019. This Training Exercise will be a part of the 2019 Recruit Class Fire Academy. The training exercise will take place in a donated structure located at 1261 Bob Wade Lane.

In preparation for the exercise the structure has been prepared and inspected. All measures have been taken to protect the surrounding properties. During the training exercise nearby residents may see black smoke coming from the area. However, should anyone have any concerns during the exercise, they are instructed to call 911.

The Training Exercise will focus on interior fire attack initially and evolve into an exterior defensive operation once we have completed interior operations.

The exercise will start around 9:30 A.M. At the conclusion of the exercise, the structure will be allowed to burn until the structure is demolished by fire.

Fire Captain Norm McKelvey and Fire Captain Keith Casteel of Huntsville Fire-Rescue Training Division will coordinate and supervise this burn.

The exercise should conclude by 1600. Should we have inclement weather that prevents the exercise, we’ll re-schedule the exercise for another day to be determined.
