Honoring Those Who Served

As Veterans Day approaches on Monday, Council Member John Meredith, noting his father, James, is a veteran, took a moment at Thursday’s City Council meeting to speak about the significance of the holiday.

“I want to give my heartfelt thanks to all the veterans out there,” Meredith said. “You’re part of the reason we’re able to be here having these discussions and talking about politics openly, because you have defended our right to do it.”

City offices will be closed on Veterans Day. The annual Veterans Day parade in downtown Huntsville will be Monday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.
