HPD to manage downtown traffic for VBC 5K Music Run

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) will temporarily implement road closures in downtown Huntsville for the Von Braun Center’s 5K Music Run on Saturday, Aug. 30.

The race will begin at 8 a.m. and is expected to end by 9 a.m. For the safety of runners and spectators, Monroe Street from Clinton Avenue to Williams Avenue will be closed to all traffic starting at 6:30 a.m. The road will reopen once the event ends.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes and allow extra time for travel if commuting in the downtown area on race morning. HPD officers will be on-site to direct traffic and ensure a safe environment for participants and the community.
