Blue Origin Development

Industrial projects topped the list of non-residential projects permitted last month. Residential CO’s more than doubled year-over-year.


Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

In July, 108 housing units were permitted, all single-family. The top tract for building permits last month was 113 (Green Mountain/Owens Cross Roads), where 20 units were permitted. This is a 31.2% decrease over July 2018, when 157 housing units (111 single- and 46 multi-family) were permitted.


Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

244 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 134 single- and 110 multi-family. The top tract for CO’s in the month of June was 109.01 (Hampton Cove) where 125 housing units were added, 17 single- and 108 multi-family. This is a 132% increase from July 2018, when 105 housing units (101 single- and 4 multi-family) were granted CO’s.
