Make the most of winter with Parks & Recreation’s Winter Program Guide
Published on November 20, 2025

Cold weather may be approaching but there’s no shortage of ways to stay active and get connected this winter with Huntsville Parks & Recreation.
The winter program guide is packed with more than 100 activities for all ages. Even better, most activities are free.
Get active with a weekly walking group, attending a strength class or playing a game of basketball. Spark your creativity at a sewing group or connect with like minds at activities like stamp club and college nights at the rec.
As a bonus, this guide showcases a month-long lineup of holiday events featuring everything from the signature event – Big Spring Jingle on Dec. 19 – to recreation center events like Santa’s Senior Shindig and Jingle Jam.
“Parks & Recreation doesn’t slow down for the cold,” said Director James Gossett. “We’ve got plenty of ways to stay active, connect with others and just have fun this winter and holiday season. We’re looking forward to seeing new and returning faces across the city.”
