Watermark at Bridge Street

A new hotel at Bridge Street topped non-residential building permits issued last month. Residential permits nearly doubled year-over-year.


Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

In March, 257 housing units were permitted, 84 single- and 173 multi-family.

The top tract for building permits last month was 109.01 (Hampton Cove), where 192 units were permitted, 20 single- and 172 multi-family.

This is a 90.3% increase over March 2017, when 135 housing units (99 single- and 36 multi-family) were permitted.


Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

77 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 74 single- and 3 multi-family.

The top tract for CO’s in the month of March was 109.01 where 21 housing units were added, all single-family.

This is a 23% decrease from March 2017, when 100 housing units (all single-family) were granted CO’s.

Orange: Contract amount greater than $1 Million

Green: Contract amount between $500,000-$999,999

Blue: Contract amount between $100,000-$499,999
