On Tuesday, April 25th-27th, 2017 Huntsville Fire and Rescue Special Operations in conjunction with Alabama National Guard WMD Civil Support Team out of Montgomery are participating in three fictional scenarios. The three day exercise will test Huntsville firefighters and WMD Civil Support Team members in the event of a CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) Situation. In real life things can go from bad to worse very quickly, and agency representatives will be confronted with real-time situations about how they respond to emergencies at this elevated level. This exercise is an excellent opportunity for everyone to get together and learn each agency’s capabilities. Anytime you get face time with your responding partners, it will benefit all if you were to meet in a real life incident at 3 a.m.

All media are invited to attend on Thursday April 27th at 1:00pm Old Johnson High school off of Winchester Road. (The new Fire and Police Training Academies). Media is encouraged to ask questions and film during this time. More detailed information of the exercise will be given the day of the event.
