New office buildings and industrial expansions topped the list of non-residential building permits in October. Residential permits and CO’s decreased year-over-year.
Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
In October, 96 housing units were permitted, all single-family. The top tract for building permits last month was 112 (Martin-Zierdt), where 16 units were permitted. This is a 9.4% decrease over October 2017, when 106 housing units (100 single- and 6 multi-family) were permitted.
Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
125 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 86 single- and 39 multi-family. The top tract for CO’s in the month of October was 212 (Greenbrier) where 37 housing units were added, 1 single- and 36 multi-family. This is a 34.9% decrease from October 2017, when 192 housing units (86 single- and 106 multi-family) were granted CO’s.
