In a tree-de-force, more than 80 community volunteers gathered at Cavalry Hill Community Center on Saturday, Nov. 8 for Cavalry Hill Tree Planting Day. District 1 Council Member Michelle Watkins, Landscape Management Director Brian Walker and Green Team Manager Niki Sothers rolled up their sleeves planting trees and welcomed volunteers—thanking them for helping strengthen Huntsville’s urban forest. Green Team prepared all planting sites in advance and supplied tools, trees and expert guidance to ensure the effort’s success.

“The turnout at Cavalry Hill shows how much our residents care about their environment,” said Landscape Management Director Brian Walker. “Every tree planted today will provide shade, cleaner air and beauty for decades to come. It’s inspiring to see so many people come together to make that kind of lasting difference.”
