2017 Rocket City Marathon

The annual Rocket City Marathon will take place Saturday December 9, 2017.  The marathon will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Monroe Street in front of the Von Braun Center Propst Arena, and will end at approximately 1:00 p.m. inside the Propst Arena.  The marathon will travel through downtown and will go as far east as Oak Park ball fields on Oakwood Avenue, and will go as far west as the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. 

Up to 3,000 participants are expected, and numerous water tables will be set-up along the way for the runners.  Anyone traveling in areas along the marathon route should use extreme caution and expect delays.  Huntsville Police will have officers stationed at most of the affected intersections for traffic safety and control.  For more information pertaining to the marathon including a course map, visit http://runrocketcity.com/maps/.
