Ride bikes with Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle at the 17th annual Mayor’s Bike Ride.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday, May 2, at 11 a.m. in Big Spring Park.
“The Mayor’s Bike Ride is all about encouraging people to get active and enjoy the city from a new perspective,” said Mayor Battle. “It’s a fun way to support wellness while spending time with the residents who make Huntsville such a strong community.”
The family-friendly, four-mile bike ride through downtown Huntsville promotes wellness through exercise and nutrition. The event coincides with Bike Safety Month, highlighting the City’s ongoing commitment to enhancing multimodal transportation and rider safety.
“Staying healthy doesn’t have to mean major lifestyle changes,” said Healthy Huntsville Coordinator Kevin Ready. “Sometimes it’s as simple as getting outside, moving your body and finding activities you enjoy. Events like the Mayor’s Bike Ride help residents build habits that make wellness part of everyday life.”
Those who wish to ride with Mayor Battle should arrive by 10:30 a.m. for check-in and registration. Bike vendors will be on-site with information about year-round activities and cycling products.
The Huntsville Police Department’s Bike Unit will lead the ride. Helmets are required for all riders.
