Huntsville Parks & Recreation announces May 4 openings

The City of Huntsville’s Parks & Recreation Department will begin the process of re-opening facilities and returning to normal operations, to the extent allowed under State Health Officer orders, beginning Monday, May 4.

All activities must adhere to limitations of no more than 9 persons in a gathering and ensure 6-foot social distancing separation between individuals not from the same family unit. Park visitors are encouraged to wear masks or facial coverings. New guidelines will be strictly enforced by City of Huntsville staff.

Included in the permissible activities will be access to parks, greenways, outdoor archery, disk golf, dog parks, skateboarding at designated skate parks, outdoor tennis and pickleball, and aquatics facilities.
