Arrest Made In E. Tucker Shooting

Published on March 8, 2017

Huntsville Police Major Crimes Investigators have charged Keon Jackson, 29 of Huntsville, with Murder and Robbery following an early morning death investigation.

Around 5:20 a.m., 911 received a call from Jackson stating he had just shot someone.  Officers located Jackson in a vehicle leaving a parking lot near Blue Springs Road and Mastin Lake Road.  He was taken into custody without incident, and officers learned that he was possibly involved in a shooting somewhere in the area of Tucker Drive.  Additional officers responded to the area of Tucker Drive and found smoke coming from a home in the 3300 block of E. Tucker Drive.  Inside the home officers found the victim, Casey Moore, dead.

After follow-up investigation it was discovered that Jackson shot Mr. Moore and then set the house on fire.   Jackson took Mr. Moore’s wallet and vehicle before leaving the residence.  The two men were related, and this is not considered to be a random act.  The gun believed to have been used in the crime was recovered from the vehicle along with Mr. Moore’s wallet.

The investigation is ongoing, but police do not believe anyone else was involved in the crime.
