Arrest Made Following Governors Drive Shooting

The Huntsville Police Department has charged 25 year old Carthell Mosley of Huntsville with Assault following a shooting this morning in a convenient store parking lot.

 

Officers responded shortly before 9:00 a.m. to the Wavaho at 2305 Governors Drive for a report of a fight and gunshots.  When officers arrived the two men involved had fled the area, but officers recovered two .25 caliber pistols.  Approximately 30 minutes later a gunshot victim walked into the hospital emergency room with a nonlife-threatening wound to the leg.  Around 10:00 Mosley came back to the convenient store and was taken into custody.  After further investigation it was determined that Mosley and victim were in a fight and Mosley shot the victim in the leg.  He was arrested for Assault 2nd degree and Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm, and is being held in the Madison County Jail.
