The City of Huntsville is taking key steps toward construction of a new parking deck to support The Orion Amphitheater and the growing MidCity District.
The City approved a $129,750 engineering services contract with Amiri Engineering for geotechnical work, construction materials testing and ADEM reporting, as well as a $985,061 design services agreement with Chapman Sisson Architects for the deck’s architectural design.
The City will own and operate the new facility, which is planned as a 4-story precast structure with 923 parking spaces.
Design is expected to take approximately nine months, and the project expected to bid in late 2026. The construction timelines is 12–14 months, putting the tentative completion date in late 2027 or early 2028.
The new garage will increase parking capacity for concerts and events at The Orion, improve traffic flow, and support continued development in the surrounding area.
